Wisconsin trip part 1
I'm a tad late on posting about this trip, but we've been pretty busy lately! Anyway...we left bright or should I says, dark and early Thursday morning, may 23rd. We figured that would be best so the boys would sleep. What is normally a 12 hour drive, ended up being a 14 hr drive because when we stopped, we took our time and let Corbin and Colton really stretch their legs. We got to Wisconsin about 745 that evening.
Friday, was a super nice day!! Blue skies, hardly any wind and low 70s. A perfect day. Adam had plans to go golfing with his friend Matt, so I took the boys to a park and let them play for a while. Mary came by to play with us for a little bit too. then once they were getting tired, we got in the car and I drove around to let them sleep. The scenery is really pretty around there, so driving around wasn't a bad thing. One we got back to the house, they woke up and we went over to their neighbors house to play with their kids. There are cows behind the neighbors yard, so Colton thought that was the best thing ever! The kids showed him how to feed the cows and he became obsessed with them. Once Adam came back, we went on a long walk around the town, then to another park to play before going back to the house. That evening, Nicole (Aunt Nikki) came for the weekend once she got off work. We all had dinner and hung out and just had a great evening!
I will be back for part 2 soon. It's been a long day and I'm exhausted!!
Down and under
Well would you believe that ALL 4 of us are sick?? At the same time! It all started Tuesday night. Colton didn't sleep well at all. He was super restless and I noticed he was pretty warm. When we got up Wednesday, I was thinking maybe he was getting his 2 year molars. After a couple hours, I realized he was actually sick. Thankfully he was all about taking medicine (aka candy), so we were able to keep the fever down. Thursday night rolled around and before bed, I noticed my throat was a little sore. That night, Corbin was really restless. He was up 10 times between 1030 and 2. I realized he was getting sick too. So I gave him Tylenol and he finally went to sleep. Then at 4, he woke up crying. Nothing was helping, so we just walked around the house. He calmed down enough for us to lay back down.
Friday morning, we woke up and my throat felt like it was on fire, Corbin was super stuffy and Adam came home saying his throat was sore too. Great! Colton was still stuffy as well. Adam and I got progressively worse throughout the day. And I just hate when babies are sick because they don't know what's going on or understand they need to breathe through their mouth.
So here we are Saturday morning...Colton is doing much better, Corbin is exhausted but won't sleep because he can't breathe and from the neck up, I feel pretty awful. Neck down, I could have a dance party! Adam is at work and says he feels pretty crummy. What a lovely weekend around our house!! No one comes in, no one goes out!
Hope your weekend is looking a little better than ours!

8 months
Aaaaand again, I'm a few days behind on this. 8 months...can you believe it?? It seems like he's been here for so long, yet it's like he just got here. Regardless, time is flying!! Here's where he's at now...
Weight: no official stats until next month but he's about 20 lbs
Diapers: size 3
Clothes: 6 month, 6-12 mth. Depends on brand. He has a small waist, so his 6-12 mth shorts are a tad big on him. He's definitely not the chunk his big brother was.
Sleep: still getting up 1-2 times a night, depending on his activity level. 3 naps during the day, morning, afternoon, evening.
Eats: he's pretty much on formula now. I held on as long as I could. It was stressful for both of us. I decided I was going to pump and just bottle feed what I pumped. After a while, I realized I wasn't producing enough for him, so we decide to supplement with formula. Well after a while, we just decided to go with formula. His acid reflux has gotten SO much better. Not sure if its because of the formula or his age. But as far as food, he LOVES avocado still, he likes watermelon and banana. I think we'll start to try more table food and less baby food because he seems much more interested in what we're eating.
Dislikes: diaper changes, getting his hair washed, changing clothes, getting cleaned up after a meal, getting something taken away from him.
Likes: being mobile, anything and everything about big brother, tucker, cuddling before or after sleep, music, toys, the pool.
Month 7 was definitely the month he learned all forms of crawling. He started out with an army crawl, figured out how to crawl on his hands and knees, then a bear crawl. He bear crawls on tile and grass. He's definitely a fast little guy and he loves to follow Colton and Adam around. It's so cute!! Anything that big brother is doing, he wants to try to do it too. He's pulling up on anything he can and walking along furniture, walls, etc. he really likes his new water bottle! He observes everything! If we try to hide something from him, he'll look all over for it. And climbing...the kid likes to climb!
It's so funny to watch both boys and think how different they are. Their personalities are so much different! Colton is very cautious and detail oriented. Corbin is very adventurous and observant. One thing is for sure...they both LOVE being outside!!
I love these two boys more than I could have ever imagined and I love watching them grow!

Lake trip
Last Wednesday, we packed up and headed to the lake. This was Corbin's first time! My family gradually got there and everyone was there by Thursday afternoon.
Thursday morning, we went out on the boat for a while. Colton was so excited!! He woke up saying "ride on boat!" Over and over. When Colton was a baby, he would instantly zonk out as soon as the boat started going. I was hoping we would time it right and Corbin would do the same. Thankfully he did. I don't know if it's the noise from the boat or what, but I'm not complaining. We went out for a while and headed back for lunch and since it was starting to get warmer.
Adam and I had bought a little pool and sprinkler for the boys to play in during the day when it was too hot to be out on the boat. They absolutely loved it!!
The rest of the weekend was much of the same...morning boat ride, afternoon naps and kiddie pool time, dinner and evening boat ride. However, on Friday, while they were sleeping, Adam and I got to go out in the sea doo together. I haven't been out on the sea doo since before I was pregnant with Colton! It was nice to go out and cruise around the lake, just the two of us. When we got back, Corbin had been awake for about 10 min, so it was good timing.
Saturday afternoon, we headed home because Adam had to work on Sunday. Colton was a tad upset when we left...he kept saying he wanted to go to the lake house. Poor guy! We'll be back though. We all had a great time, especially Colton! He loved seeing boats and of course riding on the boat! Can't wait to go back!
Wisconsin part 2
Days are pretty busy lately, now that Corbin is mobile, so I'm a tad slow getting posts up. Where did I leave off?? Ohhh yes...
Saturday was the big day and the main reason we went up. It was Nathan's graduation day + graduation party. See here in Oklahoma, graduation parties aren't a huge deal. That's not the case for where Adam is from. They're a big deal and go all day, well into the wee hours of the night. It was a great time getting to catch up with people, eat yummy food and have a couple drinks. Colton had a blast playing with the other kids and Corbin met a lot of people, played and took a little snooze in the ergo. I love that thing! Around 10:30, I decided it was time to take the boys back and get them in bed. It was already way past bedtime anyway. Ohhh and by the way, it was like 50 degrees and overcast. Burrr! Anyway, Adam had planned on going back after he took us back to the house, but he ended up going to sleep too. Ha!
Sunday, we spent a couple hours hanging out with our friends Bob and Jen, then spent the rest of the day relaxing and hanging out with family.
Monday, we got up pretty early to head home. It's such a long drive when we have to stop so much with Corbin so he can crawl around. It ends up being about 14 hours when usually, it's only 12. Ha, I said ONLY. 12 hours is still a long time. We made it home and Corbin was happy to be on the living room floor crawling around.
We had a great weekend, even though the weather was cool. Colton had a great time and of course, it's always great seeing everyone!
