7 months

I'm a little late on Corbin's 7 month stats, but life has been a tad on the busy side to say the least.

Weight: I don't have specific weight but I'm going to guess around 18 pounds because he's averaging about a pound per month.
Diapers: we recently switched him to size 3
Clothes: depends on the brand...6 mth/6-9 mth/6-12 mth. All brands are made differently, so it varies
Eating: still nursing. I'm hanging in there, but it can be very frustrating and hard at times. He LOVES avocados in his mesh feeder. We recently tried bananas and he liked that as well. Other than those, he's eating baby food and has liked everything, I think.
Sleeping: 1 wake up on average per night to eat. He takes 2-3 naps during the day 45-90 min long.
Dislikes: diaper changes and having clothes changed. When big brother takes a toy away from him.
Likes: avocados, being able to army crawl, crawling on tile, baths, chewing on his toes, apples, when big brother plays with him.

I feel like just since he turned 7 months, he's been doing a lot. He's army crawling everywhere! Going from laying on his tummy to sitting up. He's getting up on his knees but hasn't quite figured it out. He anticipates things coming at him...like if I'm going to tickle him, he starts laughing before I even touch him. He is so easy going and happy. He is seriously always smiling. And he loves Mickey! When we turn Mickey on for Colton, Corbin will stop what he's doing and watch. He loves to splash in the bath!

Colton plays with him a little more each month and its precious. I love having two kids!!

Take A Pee

Funny name, but a great get together!! Last Saturday, May 18th, was the Take a pee round up. One of the guys at Adams station throws this huge cook out at his ranch. He has cows and horses, which are fun for the little ones. We knew this year, Colton would love it!! And boy did he ever!! He rode a horse all by himself! Last year, he flipped out when we tried to put him on the horse. This year, he asked. He had so much fun!!! Then when he got off the horse, he asked to ride the cows. Ha! Obviously, that wasn't an option, so we looked at them and went to the pond quite a bit. Colton had a blast!! Next year will be great when Corbin is able to walk around and look at the animals! It's such a great time with other firefighters families. One of my favorite get togethers of the year!

Matt Graduated

This past weekend, my brother, Matt, graduated from OU with a major in political science, minor in classics and all with honors...summa cum laude. In the fall, he has decided to attend the University of Virginia for law school. We will all miss him, but he will be home to visit and I'm sure we'll go visit him as well. I could not be more proud of my "little" brother!

Mother's Day

This past Sunday was Mother's Day. We started the day with going on a long walk since it was such a pretty day. After our walk, we took Colton to play at a park near by. Our whole day was spent outside for the most part. Once we got home, we sat in our back yard and let the boys play until it was nap time. Adam and I made dinner and after we are, we took the boys on a walk around the park and let them play for a while again and my family joined us. It was a laid back day, spent with my family and it was just perfect.

I don't need anything special. The smiles, hugs, kisses, "I love you momma", playing, and the joy I see on their faces when they see something new or discover something, is what makes being a mom special to me. These things happen daily. Yes, we have rough days, but who doesn't? I just look at them and think how blessed I am that God chose ME to be their mom. How did I get so lucky?? Being a mom is the most rewarding, challenging, amazing, thing I have ever done and I wouldn't change a second of it. I love watching them grow every day.

Of course, I wouldn't be a mom if it weren't for my mom. I am so very thankful for her. I understand her love and worry for me and my siblings, that I never understood before having my own kids. It's a love like no other. She would do anything for us and I would do the same for her.

Mother's Day is a day that shouldn't be celebrated just one day a year. I feel the love from my kids every day, so therefore, every day is like Mother's Day.

Memorial Marathon

Last Sunday, Betsy and I ran in the memorial marathon 5k. This was her first race and she did great!! Crystal rode up to the city with me, but she was running the half, so we didn't get to run with her. Once we got to the city, we met Betsy and got in her car to find a parking spot closer to the starting line. We parked, walked towards the race, took a couple pictures, then parted ways with Crystal. I always get race jitters! I don't know why because I really enjoy running in races and supporting whatever cause the money goes to for a race.

The marathon and half marathon people started at 6:30. Around 6:50, the 5k was able to start. There was SO many people there! It's absolutely amazing to see! There were at least 24,000 runners, and Oklahoma City had invited the Boston Marathon runners that weren't able to complete the race, to come run in our marathon, for free. I know some ran in it, but not sure on the exact number of people who came.

So Betsy and I ran and we only walked up the couple of hills that were on the course. We did really well, I thought. We decided that next year, we're running the half. We ran, got our medals and walked to her car, so she could take me back to my car. Our parking strategy worked out really well!

We had a ton of fun and I've already signed up for my next race...June 1, for Limbs for Life. Betsy is running it as well! So excited!! I love running in races, even though I'm not super fast, but I'm working on it!

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa

Last weekend, Adams parents came to visit. They got here on Thursday evening, so we didn't have plans except for them to play with the boys. Friday morning, Adam came home from work and we decided to go to the science museum. Well, little did we know, schools were out that day. Which meant the science museum was PACKED! But we were able to do some things and Colton had fun, so that's all that mattered. Afterwards, we were all hungry, so we took them to our favorite burger joint...S&B Burgers. Oh my yum! I love that place!!! Soooo good!!

Of course after all of that, the boys were tired, so it was nap time. Later that evenings, we grilled out and played with the boys some more.

Saturday, Adam had to work again. So after getting up and around, we all went to visit Adam at his station. They had never been and since he was on shift, it was the perfect time to go. We stayed there for a little bit as he showed them around. On our way back home, we stopped at another one of our favorites, Chick-fil-a. Thankfully, the weather was starting to warm up, so they played outside with Colton, while Corbin napped. After Corbin woke up, he went outside with them too and I was able to clean the house a little. After dinner that night, it was time to wind down a little early because I was running the 5k in the Memorial Marathon the next morning.

Sunday morning, I got up around 4:40 to get ready. Usually, Corbin is a good sleeper, so I had fed him around 4, but as I was getting ready, he woke up. Not like a little stirring, but he was WIDE awake. I tried and tried to get him back to sleep but it was not happening. I finished getting ready and went to get Mary so she could watch Corbin so I could leave. I left around 5:20 to head to the city, we ran around 7 and was back home by 8:15. Shortly after I got home, they had to leave.

We had a great weekend with them and are so glad they got to come down to see the boys. We'll be heading up to Wisconsin for Memorial Day weekend, so we'll see them again soon!
